Message to the Oppositions

Message to the Opposition:

I am no politician and do not belong to any political party because I am still not convince of the motivations behind being a successful politician in Malaysia. Unless such time that our prime minister earns a decent salary and that all leaders will gracefully steps down like David Blanket if they mess-up, then I will join that party. So, you can challenge me why not now and make the difference and my answer would be I rather stay out and criticize as much as I like without having to please anyone.

Guys, please let us all remember that Malaysians opposition’s politicians are still politicians and that Malaysians are people with very short memory. Malaysians politicians thus far can never be trusted for what they say is equivalent to this old hokkien saying “Chui kong something-something song” which literally means “ Mouth talk, something else enjoy”. Shit man, does this make sense? It does not right? So here we are, political talk!!!

Now that the Rakyat have chosen, the oppositions are now in cloud nine. As expected there will be some juggling, fighting and disagreement. What do you expect? These guys never expect that the Rakyat are so generous that they will get to run five states!!! Last few days development within the DAP-PKR-PAS coalition and the selection of Penang MB and 2 Deputy MBs, Election of Minority PAS as MB in Perak and 2 Deputy MB’s, withdrawal of all fines before 11th March for hawker’s and traffic offences, announcement of removal of NEP in Penang and what else to come clearly shows that these are not “sound state management acts" but “political management”. I call these giving sweets to the kids and go play under the tree while your dad try to clean the house. OK for now that everyone is walking around with some "hangovers" but let us remind the oppositions that you have only one term to prove yourselves and if you fail, you will never have this opportunity again for a long-long time. Oh, just in case Badawi does intend to sleep through another term, then DAP-PKR-PAS will surely win another term and most like the federal government too and I have to eat my words.

Please remember that the Rakyat is not as stupid as BN’s perception. The Rakyat is not as afraid as BN’s perception. The Rakyat is more demanding than BN’s perception. Today’s politic is no more about races and religion. Today’s politics are for the Rakyat as a whole. The whole country must rise above now and catch up with the rest of the world. Politics must be about how we can bring the nation forward and enjoy the fruit by all Malaysians. Politics is not about brandishing the "Keris" and proclaiming your intention to fight for your rights…. against the same group of people stealing their own rights! Politics is not for Pea Brains Oxford graduate (UMNO Malaysia’s Malay seems to have only one Oxford Graduate) who have not said anything else about Malaysians but only about protecting Malay and Islam and that Chinese drive Mercedes while Malays still riding the bike. Wake-up!!! After 50 years of ruling Malaysia, he is telling you that that UMNO have successfully give the Mercedes to the Chinese and bike to Malay. This same person blatantly tells Malaysians that he wants to be the PM before 40 years old. Are we all so stupid or is he that arrogantly capable? I personally think it is not fair to judge him now so I suggest we let that Pea Brain run a 7-eleven outlet or Starbuck first and judge him. I am pretty sure he can learn a lot from this two establishments.

So, to all the new state governments, please remember that Malaysia rejects arrogant politicians, corrupted politicians, racist politicians, sexist politicians, incapable politicians, old dead woods and “lalangs”.

Malaysia has enough opportunities for all. We want a real leader that can share this among all Malaysians especially the poor and under-privilege. Remember…Malaysians are not stupid. They are just too simple minded and over accommodating people.

Open Message to PM/BN Leaders

Open Message to PM/BN Leaders

If BN need to conduct an independent inquiry to establish the causes of BN’s shocking dismal performance, then obviously BN leadership are either being misled, misinformed or “sleeping” all this while. BN do not need to spend further the country’s resources to establish the causes of Rakyat dissatisfaction all this while unless BN leadership have not being listening or preferred spinning off the truth.

The simple truth is that the Malaysians have decided to risk voting for an unproven and loose opposition coalition itself because Malaysians by large have lost confidence in BN to lead the nation forward.

Malaysians simply reject arrogant and bigheaded politicians as their representative. Malaysians reject abuse of NEP for the enrichment of certain group of elite people instead of improving the lives of all Rakyat. Malaysian rejects racial based politics and fears associated with it. Malaysians reject continuous discrimination of the poor and the minorities. Malaysian rejects corruptions and abuse of powers by authorities that are supposed to protect us.
The voices of Rakyat Malaysia have spoken loud and clear on these issues. BN leadership must take full responsibilities of this failure and to step aside. The greatest honour BN leaders should do now is to accept responsibilities for the dismal performanc

We Need a Change of Government

TRUE People’s Party to Govern the Country

It is extremely heart warming to see so many Rakyat of various ethnics from different parties and organisations poured into the streets, soaking in the rain and facing threats by the authorities just to send an appeal to his Royal Highness calling for a fair election.

We, the Rakyat of Malaysia have seen enough after five decades being governed by the Barisan National. Instead of being a developed country, Malaysia is now a laughing stock of our neighbours and the International community. Malaysia is now perceived to be a highly corrupted country controlled by certain political leaders, their families and their cronies. Worst, these leaders are incapable, crude, rude, and arrogant and above the law. Our natural wealth is being exploited for the personal benefits of these powerful people while the nation potential is being slowly but surely flushed down the drain. These leaders called themselves the true representative of the nation culture, race and religion and will protect all Malaysian from the threat and the influence of the Western World but yet all of these same leaders ensure that their children are all Western educated and park their ill gained wealth in these Western Nation. They will continue to play the racial card and instil fear by creating suspicion and distrust among the various ethnic groups in Malaysia to divide and rule. Indeed, Malaysia’s greatest threats are from this same group of politicians that continuously fanning and exploiting the emotions of nation’s ethnic group.

I cannot see how Malaysia will progress forward if we continue to be lead by these political parties who have being given the mandate to lead for five decades and yet failed to even generate a Nation we can all be proud off. I feared the future when after five decades of being ruled by Barisan National, what we achieved are “Pakciks” riding motorbike, “Towkays” driving Mercedes while another ethnic group controls media distribution. In reality, that Western educated pea brain failed to mention that my father, that Ah Pek who served the Rakyat and the nation all his life rides a bike, our neighbour, Hussein rides a bike and our newspaper deliveryman Samy also rides a bike. On the other hand, there is this former railway gatekeeper now a “Dato Towkay” who lives in a 16 rooms with 21 toilets, a private swimming pool on a 40,000 sg meter Istana and drives a (maybe some) Mercedes. Sadly, this is an example of the “whom” that “make it” but not addressed. The Rakyat must realise that Malaysia is a potentially prosperous nation with more than enough for all. The Country’s wealth and potential is the envy of many but what we are lacking is a true Rakyat elected party working for the Rakyat as a whole.

I applaud “Bersih” for sending a clear message to the present government that the Rakyat wants change so that the nation can truly move forward. The coming together of “Bersih” alone is clear and present message that Malaysia’s multi ethnic group will come together as one to protect the rights of ALL Malaysians from continuously being exploited and manipulated.

We need a new government to deliver for all and not for some. We must reinstate our true Malaysian value and let the world know that the majority of Malaysians are not incapable, crude, rude, and arrogant.

Sales Guru in Action

Extracts from Malaysiakini: 7 November 2007: PM defends keris at Umno assembly

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today lashed out at those who had criticised Umno for the brandishing of the keris at its annual general assembly.

Opening the annual Umno meet at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur this morning, Abdullah, who is also party boss, claimed such criticism was done to spread fears among the non-Malays. "The act of unsheathing and kissing a keris is part of our cultural heritage but its meaning has been twisted to spread fear among non-Malays, and the image of Umno and Malaysia has been smeared overseas," Abdullah, clad in a traditional bright orange baju melayu, said. "Keris is a weapon, but it is a weapon to protect yourself and your friends," he said to a round of thunderous applause from more than 2,500 delegates who turned up this morning.

Extracts from Malaysiakini: 8 November 2007: Khairy: Only the needy should enjoy subsidies

In all, the government had to foot RM35 billion, or 25 percent of government income, lamented Khairy during the debate on economy and education at the Umno assembly today.
He said the present situation would cause wastages as subsidies have made certain commodities too cheap.

“Imagine: A pakcik on a motorbike pays RM1.92 for a litre of petrol. A towkay in a Mercedes-Benz pays the same price. Why? Why must we subsidise those who are already rich?” asked Khairy. He said continuing government subsidy efforts would be a burden on the country’s finance in the long run and ways must be found for equitable distribution of subsidies.

On Malay entrepreneurs, Khairy said the Malays lack control of the supply chain and this explains their poor standing in various industries. “Today is the first time the Umno president's speech is not being read by the masses because a particular ethnic group controls the distribution line of newspapers and they are on holiday,” he said.

Khairy was referring to 'no publication' day of almost all the major newspapers in Peninsular Malaysia as it was the Deepavali holiday. Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had yesterday delivered his annual presidential address yesterday but it was only carried in Utusan Malaysia, Kosmo and Oriental Daily today.

He was using this as an example of how the Malays are often at the bottom of the supply chain. "If you look at the distribution network, all is control by a certain race. We have always allow this distribution network to be controlled by one race. Only today, we know the implication. This is because we did not control the distribution network."

Dean Kuok writes:

I attended my first sales motivation seminar fresh from School 25 years ago on “Achieving Greatness in Sales” by a re known “Sales Guru” in Malaysia. The highlight of the seminar was when the famous speaker asked all 400 of us in the auditorium to close our eyes, picture the face of our parent and listen only to his voice. He then went through a series of highly emotional description of how our parents suffered to bring us to this world and how much they want us to succeed. At the end of the session, I could see most of the participants crying their heart out publicly. I swore never to attend any seminar by this “sales guru” again because what he did really achieved was to make us pay RM300 per person and exploited our inner emotions but failed to touch on how to “Achieve Greatness in Sales”.

During the last UMNO general assembly, UMNO youth leader Hishamuddin Hussein act of brandishing and kissing the keris followed by some strong remarks by some delegates was subsequently interpreted by many non-Malays Malaysian as clear warning to the non-Malay Malaysians that UMNO is willing to risk lives and bathe in blood in defence of the Malay race and religion. Despite the huge controversial caused by his action, he has chosen to repeat this famous act again and in the future. Then, the PM defended his action by proclaiming that the act is to protect yourself and your friends.

Hishamuddin act is a reflection of the exploitation of UNMO member’s emotion. On close analysis, one can clearly see that his act is actually a finely packaged act of defiance, arrogance and disrespect for the Rakyat, commonly associated with politician or leaders bankrupted of ideas but clinging on desperately. His act is simply a desperate attempt to garner support by exploiting the emotions of the Malays at the expense of other Malaysian. He is simply brandishing a double-edged "Keris" at the pretext of protecting the Malays and the religion.

Maybe Mr Gordon Brown can learn from Hishamuddin and start brandishing the British Sword during the labour’s assembly, or George Bush brandishing the Yankee Sword during the Democratic assembly. I cannot imagine if the local non-UMNO parties start brandishing their Swords, Spears, Bow and Arrows during their respective assembly. Better yet, Hishamuddin should introduce this act to all the ASEAN leaders as a mark to defend Malaysia and our ASEAN friends. I cannot see how Hishamuddin can lead the Malays and Malaysian forward.

PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi further explained that the "Keris" is to protect yourself and your friends. Unfortunately, PM fall short on clarifying whom the real enemies he is referring to? To me, all these acts is a reflection of the “sales guru” exploiting the UMNO member’s emotions on the pretext of the Malay Race and Islam being threaten.

I fail to neither understand nor see the threat on the Malay Race and Islam in Malaysia but I can see the threat on how the wealth of the country is surely and rapidly falling into the wrong hand. How are the Malay Race and Islam being threaten in Malaysia considering all the privileges and rights being accorded to the Malays under the New Economic Policy and the management of the country’s wealth being managed by this same group of people?

Maybe this is because in Malaysia, “Pakciks” ride motorbike, “Towkays” drive Mercedes while that ethnic group controls media distribution resulting in the Rakyat being deprived of the speech by the PM? If that is his argument, then sadly, the Malay Race and Islam are indeed being severely threatened. Threaten by the very same group that govern this country since independence. Yes, do UNMO members actually realised that this Country that is being governed by their very own UMNO Malays since its independence thus resulting in all “Pakciks” riding the motorbikes, “Towkays” driving the Mercedes and that ethnic group controlling the distribution of the media. Is this not a clear enough indication that Barisan National lead by UMNO failed miserably to protect the interest of Malays or for that matter, every Malaysian? That’s the reality because that Western educated pea brain failed to mentioned that my father is an Ah Pek who served the Rakyat and the nation all his life and proudly rides a bike, our neighbour, Hussein rides a bike and our newspaper deliveryman Samy also rides a bike. On the other hand, he conveniently forgot to mention that a former railway gatekeeper now a “Dato Towkay” lives in an 18 room Istana and drives a (maybe some) Mercedes. Surely UMNO boleh but I am not sure about Malaysia Boleh.

If the Malays are worst off today as they perceived to be, then maybe the Malays should re-look at how Colonial European and some Chinese Capitalist exploited opium to cripple and control millions of their own fellow Chinese countrymen in Shanghai during the 19th century resulted in continued suppression by these foreign powers. Maybe this country is being run the same way?

5 Star MAS Service at Budget Prices

Extracts from Malaysiakini

Five-star airline with budget carrier fares
Oct 29, 07 7:29am :

Malaysia Airlines plans to transform itself into a five-star airline with budget carrier fares, under a five-year business transformation plan to be launched in 2008, a report said Monday.

The beleaguered flag carrier last year launched a turnaround plan aimed at restoring it to profitability after a series of losses.

Its managing director, Idris Jala, said the airline now wanted to shift gears again, with a five-year transformation plan aimed at making it more nimble to face heightened competition.

"We were talking a lot about business turnaround plan before. Now we plan to transform from what we are today into a five-star airline at low-cost carrier cost," he told the state news agency Bernama.

DeanKuok Says:

5 Star Service at Budget Prices

The last few days, I was so disappointed by the ‘feel tall’ and “don’t feel tall” argument about our cosmonaut. Say what you like but at this point of time, this is simply just another “Malaysia Boleh” waste of RM90 million public funded space tour by a lucky Malaysian first space tourist. Now…hold your horses! I am proud of Sheikh Mustaphar as a Malaysian capable of travelling to space but the Government of Malaysia packaging the space odyssey as a scientific research appalls me. Now, that is an unacceptable load of rubbish! I shall wait for the government of Malaysia and those that disagree with me another 20 years to prove me wrong and I sincerely hope I am wrong.

Still on the air space issue, DIJ announced that Malaysia Airlines plans to transform itself into a five-star airline with budget carrier fares. Bravo… MAS footing is definitely firmly on the ground instead of floating in Space! Definitely this new proposed strategy make excellent good economic sense.

Let us all pause for a moment and look at MAS current position. On their left are the fast growing regional budget airlines and on their right, the much established exclusive 5 star Singapore Airlines. Budget airlines offer cheaper prices at the expense of comfort while exclusive airlines offer slightly better comfort at hefty prices. I always wonder why can’t we have both? Competitively priced and comfortable air travel. Airlines experts will declare this as impossible but Stelios (easyjet) have always proved his critic wrong by seeking non-airlines financial experts because they are the only ones who can tell him how easyjet can fly from London to Paris at the price of a steak and still make profits. The basic principal is that airplanes belong up in the sky carrying the maximum load and not left idling on the tarmac. The secret is not just saving cost by not assigning seats. How much can the airline really save by not assigning seats, when one can now select the seat via the Internet? The bottom line is still “effective lower per passenger unit cost” by maximising passenger load and the time the plane remain in the sky (“airtime”) where they ought to be.

If I am to assume this as MAS new strategy, then we are looking at comfortable mass transit at very competitive prices. Excellent strategy assuming that MAS is able to control the unit cost effectively. This strategy is certainly an effective way to capture a larger share of the international travellers market. We should not be protecting the 25 million passengers but instead targeting 50 million passengers. This will mean truly able transforming KLIA a competitive regional hub and boasting the other related industries such as higher returns for KLIA, airline support industries, tourism and regional business centre. I will certainly look forward to MAS new strategy.

Now We Can Fly Higher

Malaysiakini Report:

MAS 'disappointed' over end of KL-S'pore monopoly
Oct 26, 07 3:44am

Malaysia Airlines said today it was disappointed over the decision to allow budget airlines to operate the lucrative Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route, breaking the national carriers' stranglehold.

"Whilst we are all for fair competition and we believe in the concept of open skies, we are disappointed that the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route will be prematurely opened to limited flights," CEO Idris Jala said in a statement.

Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said yesterday that pioneering low-cost carrier AirAsia had won its long battle to operate the route which for 35 years has been monopolised by Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

BirdTalk comment:

Way to Fly Higher

I applaud the decision by the cabinet to loosen the stranglehold of MAS and Singapore airlines for KL-Singapore sector. Both MAS and Singapore airlines have benefited from this monopoly for too long and I am sure regular travellers who have being paying astronomical rates for the 30 minutes ride would more than welcome this decision. However, I urge the government of Malaysia to opening this sector altogether instead of limiting it to just 2 flights per day.

Over the years, Sepang has lost out significantly to Singapore Changi as the regional airline hub. Most travellers have chosen Changi as the preferred destination and transit point due to the ease of flight connection and the lure of Changi airport as a shopping and leisure complex instead of just an airport. Annually, Changi airport handles over 35 million passengers/200,000 flights serviced by over 80 airlines catering for 185cities/58 countries of which more than 60% are transit passengers. On the other hand, KLIA handles 25 million passengers/180,000 flights serviced by about 40 airlines with more than half of KLIA flights and passengers are domestic and less than 20% transit passengers.

The government of Malaysia should not be focusing on protecting on what we have but instead of the opportunity available in capturing a larger share of the international travellers market. We should not be protecting the 25 million passengers, least of all, our under-performing national carrier or our booming “Asian” carrier Air Asia, but instead targeting 50 million passengers for the prosperity of our National carrier, Budget Airlines, KLIA, airline support industries, tourism and regional business hub. This growth can be achieved if KLIA can offer international travellers better reasons why KLIA should be the preferred regional destination or transit point. We can start by offering the basic pre-requisite most travellers seek, the basic convenience of flight connections and competitive incidental cost. This would certainly a worthwhile consideration for most travellers to re-evaluate their options. More travellers’ preference to use KLIA means more passenger loads, more airlines, more destinations and country covered.

If the government of Malaysia intend to establish KLIA as a truly international and domestic air travel hub, then the government ought to seriously be capitalising on the booming regional budget airline industry. This can only be achieved if the government subscribe to total open sky policy and provide more attractive incentives, support and facilities for more budget airlines to be based in KLIA. With more budget airlines servicing the region, local and international traffic will increase. Therefore, in retrospective, removing protective measures such as protecting lucrative routes or granting more licences for more budget airline will indirectly lead to greater prosperity of our national carrier airlines, the budget airline industry, KLIA, airline support industries, tourism and business regional hub.

Malaysia Airlines should not be disappointed over the decision to allow budget airlines to operate the lucrative Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route, breaking the national carriers' stranglehold. Instead, MAS should capitalise on the opportunity by re-focusing its business strategy to be an exclusive national carrier and re-directing its resources to attract more international travellers flying to or via KLIA. Over 3 decades of protectionism is already excessive. The government should not forgo it’s aspiration by continue to provide any form of protection for the national carrier and local budget airline Air-Asia. Instead, it should all be removed immediately for the future of the country as a whole.
